Wynn Makes History With 2009 Mobil Travel Guide Triple Award Wins

Wynn's Tower Suites, Alex and Spa earn Mobil Five-Star Recognition

LAS VEGAS, Jan 22, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Today Wynn Las Vegas makes history with triple Mobil Five-Star award wins, distinguishing the resort as one of only two in the world to receive Mobil Travel Guide's highest honor across all Star-rated categories. The Tower Suites at Wynn Las Vegas, Alex restaurant and The Spa have each earned Five-Star recognition for their achievements attaining the highest standards of excellence in hospitality.

Andrew Pascal, President of Wynn Las Vegas, comments: "With these prestigious accolades, Mobil shows that they fully appreciate the sincere commitment of our staff to provide exceptional guest experiences and uncompromising quality. We are proud of their accomplishments and thrilled that Mobil has chosen to recognize and celebrate Wynn for three consecutive years."

The Tower Suites at Wynn Las Vegas is one of 44 hotels in North America to achieve the Mobil Five-Star award. The resort is also the only casino resort in the world to hold the Mobil Five-Star award for three consecutive years.

Alex, where Chef Alessandro Stratta's elegant cuisine captures the flavors of the French and Italian Riviera, is one of only 20 restaurants in North America and one of two in Las Vegas to earn Mobil's top honor. Alex was also recognized with the Mobil Five-Star award in 2007 and 2008.

Further solidifying its position as the most luxurious spa experience in Las Vegas, The Spa is the only one in Las Vegas to be recognized with Mobil's Five-Star award. Only eight spas in North America have attained this distinction in 2009. Previously, The Spa garnered acclaim from Mobil with three consecutive Four-Star award wins in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Wynn's Mobil distinction expanded internationally in 2009, as Mobil Travel Guide introduced its inaugural editions in Beijing and Hong Kong/Macau. Wynn Macau became the only resort in Macau to be honored with the Mobil Five-Star award and one of five abroad to earn Mobil's highest accolade. The Spa at Wynn Macau was also honored with the prestigious Five-Star award.

Since 1958, the Mobil Travel Guide's ratings process has been based on more than 750 standardized criteria for hotels, making it the most rigorous and comprehensive in the industry. The process begins with a facility inspection that considers every aspect of the property, including its overall cleanliness, condition and location. To achieve Mobil Travel Guides Five-Star status, properties must meet or exceed Mobil Travel Guide's bar-setting service standards, which are determined through an unannounced, undercover service evaluation conducted by Mobil Travel Guide's expert inspectors.
